JUBILEE OPEN GARDENS - SATURDAY 9TH JULY 2022
Eaton Rise residents opened nine gardens to the public on Saturday 9th July to raise funds for Priscilla Bacon Hospice Appeal. The sun shone and the gardens bloomed beautifully for the 163 visitors who came along.
It was a wonderful community event with the United Reformed Church providing refreshments for visitors and raising £222.50.
Eaton Rise Residents Association raised a total of £870.00 on programme and plant sales, plus donations. Collectively making a total of £1,092.50 for the charity. Kathleen Rowlands committee member said, “Thanks goes to all those involved with the organising and who volunteered on the day, but especially the open gardeners who have worked for several months to get their gardens looking beautiful, it hasn’t been easy during this summer heat and no rain to speak of. We would also like to thank all our lovely visitors who supported the event. It was great to meet people from near and far who have an enthusiasm for gardens. A fabulous day was had by all and a fantastic amount raised for Priscilla Bacon Hospice.”
On the Sunday the garden openers made the tour around all of the gardens and finished off with a celebratory Pimms at Les and Kathleen’s a perfect end to a great weekend.
